A Day
Day 3
9th baseball practice started this morning at 6:30 for those 8th graders playing this year. Be sure to fill out the google form that was emailed your way, if you’ve not already done so.
8th graders: Attention all incoming 9th-12th grade football players: There will be a Football Spring Meeting on Wednesday, April 15 at 2:40 PM in the OHS Gymnasium. All players planning to participate in football next season should plan to attend. Important information regarding offseason expectations, summer plans, and the upcoming season will be shared. Again this is only for our current 8th graders (incoming 9-12 graders). Please reach out to Brett Doud at OHS with any questions.
The OMS Talent Show will be held May 14th. Be sure to check your email for an important message from Miss Jorgensen pertaining to getting your name on the audition list!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS !! OMS… IT’S GO TIME! ISASP Testing Week is coming - April 14–17. THIS is YOUR moment to SHINE and show off all that hard work. HERE IS THE GAME WINNING PLAN: Charge your chromebooks each night. Get plenty of rest each night and each morning, breakfast will be served FREE to all students at OMS. That’s right - FREE BREAKFAST FOR ALL OMS STUDENTS during ISASP testing through the 17th! Make sure to stop by and grab breakfast so you’re fueled up and ready to do your best on your tests. BONUS ALERT! Students who give 100% effort earn incentive time OUTSIDE after testing! (Yes… fresh air + sunshine + a brain break = WORTH IT)
And speaking of FREE BREAKFAST - our food service department will have FREE BREAKFAST for all students now through ISASP testing completion. This is a great thing for ALL students - be sure to take part in this great opportunity!
Commons vending machines: new information that has been shared with us is that our vending machines have to be in the OFF position ½ hour before and ½ hour after school begins and ends. This means BOTH machines will NOT be working between 7:30 AM and 4pm daily. Plan accordingly with your morning and after school snacks!
Check out the district’s APP and website and look for the VIRTUAL BACKPACK! It’s filled with camp information for all ages, all year long and is a great resource for our district families 24/7.
Cell phone policy: Hey Oskaloosa Middle School students, This year, the Iowa Legislature passed a new law (HF 782) that changes how personal devices can be used during the school day at every school in the state of Iowa. Here’s the bottom line:
No personal devices (phones, smartwatches, earbuds) during class time, passing time, or lunch.
You CAN use your Chromebook for schoolwork.
If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken to the office.
Put devices away, turned off, in locker during the school day.
We want everyone to start strong, so check out the full policy and FAQ:
