From the district’s Tech Department: Please keep your chromebooks inside overnight and not in your vehicles when it's cold out. If your chromebook was in your vehicle or a very cold place, please let it warm up inside for a while (preferably to room temperature) before opening
the lid to prevent damage. Also be very careful as the screen will be very fragile when cold.
Dangers to electronics in cold and freezing temperatures: Plastic and screen becomes brittle and easy to break, screen may be blurry, shatter or touch screens may not respond until back to room temperature; The battery will drain quickly and shut the device off, may cause permanent damage; If you power devices up too quickly after being in the cold, condensation may form inside and cause damage. Thank you, Mrs. Barnhart
