Countdown to Summer OMS Dress Up Days:
Mon 18th - Dream Team Pajama Day - roll out of bed and head to class in your coziest pajamas for the ultimate low-effort kickoff.
Tues 19th - Tropical Takeover - bring the island vibes to the hallways with your brightest Hawaiian shirts, leis, and sunglasses.
Wed 20th - Teacher Twin Day - step into your teacher’s shoes and raid your favorite teacher’s closet to see if you can pull off their signature look!
Thu 21st - Off to College Day - dress for your future and rep your favorite university by rocking the college gear or campus style of your choice!
Fri 22nd - Osky Pride Day - Flood the halls with maroon and white to show everyone what it truly means to have Osky Pride!
Drivers Ed Information: The school’s summer program will be just ONE session, beginning May 28th and with a cost of $395. This program includes online classroom and in-person drive time. Drive times will be determined by the instructor(s). DETAILED instructions on the program can be found: on the commons window ledge or the Virtual Backpack on the district’s website. Forms and tuition/fees are due to Becki Gatton at OHS by May 21st, to guarantee a seat. Questions may be directed to Mr. Rob Campbell at: campbellr@oskycsd.org

OMS softball practice has started (typically daily 3:30 - 5:30).
Check out the school district’s website - and look for the virtual backpack - which is starting to fill up more activities for your student - especially summer activities and camps! It’s like a one stop shop! Check it out!
Commons vending machines: new information that has been shared with us is that our vending machines have to be in the OFF position ½ hour before and ½ hour after school begins and ends. This means BOTH machines will NOT be working between 7:30 AM and 4pm daily. Plan accordingly with your morning and after school snacks!
Cell phone policy: Hey Oskaloosa Middle School students, This year, the Iowa Legislature passed a new law (HF 782) that changes how personal devices can be used during the school day at every school in the state of Iowa.Here’s the bottom line:
No personal devices (phones, smartwatches, earbuds) during class time, passing time, or lunch.
You CAN use your Chromebook for schoolwork.
If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken to the office.
Put devices away, turned off, in locker during the school day.

5/18 lunch: fresh baked whole grain biscuit with sausage gravy, hash brown patty and egg patty
5/19 lunch: chicken and cheese quesadilla with salsa
5/20 lunch: BBQ beef riblet sandwich with vegetarian baked beans and waffle fries
5/21 lunch: popcorn chicken with dinner roll, mashed potatoes and chicken gravy plus corn
5/22 lunch: spaghetti with meatballs, dinner roll and steamed peas
5/26 lunch: BBQ chicken drumstick with dinner roll and corn
5/27 lunch: cheese stuffed breadstick with marinara sauce and green beans
Plus there’s always pizza, Grill items, taco Bar, and On The Go foods with fresh fruits, vegetables and milk each day!

May 26th - 1:30 bell schedule to accommodate our 3rd trimester awards assembly with normal dismissal at 3:30 PM
May 27 - B Day and Seminar Day 2 with a 12:30 bell schedule to end our school year! Have a safe summer!
