B Day

The 8th-grade girls closed out their volleyball season at home last night against the Knoxville Panthers. The A1 girls won 2 of their 3 games by scores of 21-16, 23-21, and 5-15. Top stats came from Bella Stewart with 100% serving, two aces, and two assists; Lylah Hughes with one ace and two assists; Raelie Wyatt with 100% serving, three aces, and two kills; Kennedy Hicks with one touch block, one block, and one kill; Addy Sytsma with two touch blocks, one block, one assist, and one kill; Maryn Scott with 100% serving; Lucy Clark with one kill; and Alayna Sheets with 100% serving. The A2 team lost all three of their games by scores of 12-21, 6-21, and 8-15. Stat contributors were Maryn Scott with 100% serving and two aces; Lucy Clark, Ava McDonald, and Olivia Doll with one ace apiece; Anna Smith with one touch block; Natalie Harbour with two digs; and Aubree Leatherman and Natalie McBurney with one dig apiece. 

The B-team girls brought the energy and rebounded from an early loss to win the next three sets. Scores were 18-21, 25-23, 21-16, and 21-17. Top stats came from Grace Wright with six aces and a kill; Hadlee Dykstra with five aces and four kills; Ava Ritz with four aces, two kills, and two assists; Madi Hansen with four aces and a kill; Evelyn Schakel with two aces and a kill; Ashanti Mackerl with two aces, an assist, and a kill; Kiersten DeWitt with an ace and three kills; Kaatja VanEe with an assist and three kills; Maddison Johannes with one kill; and Ella Shepherd with one kill. 7th and 8th grade wrestling meeting is TODAY/FRIDAY after school until 4:15. Please meet in the OMS wrestling room - per Coach Bret Sams.

After School Clubs run from 3:30 - 4:30 PM with Wednesday’s club time running from 2:30 - 3:30PM. Please have rides ready at 4:30. Any questions may be directed to Tom Jenkinson in room 104.

*No After School Club on Monday the 20th and Thursday the 23rd due to PT conferences.

Cell phone policy: Hey Oskaloosa Middle School students, This year, the Iowa Legislature passed a new law (HF 782) that changes how personal devices can be used during the school day at every school in the state of Iowa.Here’s the bottom line:

  • No personal devices (phones, smartwatches, earbuds) during class time, passing time, or lunch.

  • You CAN use your Chromebook for schoolwork.

  • If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken to the office.

  • Put devices away, turned off, in locker during the school day.
